  • All our frames online are made with solid wood, rather than the softer plastic coated woods most people use. This gives our frames more strength and durability compared to the softer plastic coated woods most framers supply.Description text goes here

  • Our wood is usually delivered in 2 to 3 meter lengths so the first step of our process is to cut to the size needed. We do this using a Pistorious double mitre saw, this saw doesn’t just cut the wood to a perfect 45 degree angle it also allows us to the size we want to the precise millimeter.

    The next step in the process is joining the frame, depending on what moulding that is needed to be joined. All frames will be joined with glue and metal wedges which are inserted using a machine called and underpinner. An underpinner pushes metal wedges into the back of the frame securing the join. On larger frames our box frames we also use a brad or a screw to strengthen the join ultimately making to frame more robust.

    After joining the frame and letting the glue dry we then sand it in a three step process. We start off using a belt sander, then rotary sander and finishing or with a block sander to soften any harsh edges. This is what gives our products such a smooth and aesthetic feel to them.

    Only after all this has been done can we apply one of our many Finishes

  • We stock or can order in all Larson Juhl(Arqadia), Centrado and Bainbridge mount boards. All of these company’s mount boards are acid free so are essential for preserving your valued work. Even if you do not choose us as your framer we strongly suggest using a framer who can supply acid free mounts. Non acid free boards can lead to discolouration and damage to your art which is not ideal as it will devalue your art and in some cases completely ruin it.

  • Not only do we care about our quality and service, we also are very invested in the conservation of our environment and the planet, thus all of our packaging except our fragile tape (until we can source a better alternative) we use to seal it is recyclable so please keep this in mind when disposing or reusing out packaging.
