Mouldings
We stock, supply and can order in hundreds of different mouldings from different suppliers all of which differ from one another. With this in mind we can help you pick out the perfect the perfect moulding to match your precious work. We prefer to use natural solid woods for many reasons however, we offer a range of aluminium and for something cheaper we offer a range of ready finished moulding.
Glazing
Our standard framing service comes with regular 2mm float glass however, we do offer other types of glass and perspex glazing options, all of which each serve a different purpose.
Mounting
There are several different ways of mounting artwork such as window mounts, float mounts, flat floats and raised floats however, not all pieces need mounting. For instance we don’t feel that posters need mounting as it tends to take away the feel of what a poster is. In this case we do suggest that spacers are needed to keep the piece off the glass. We supply a huge range of mount board colours and thickness, this means we can find the most complementary fit for your prize piece.
Frame Finishes
Having the right stain, colour or finish of a frame is essential to accompany your art, thus for that reason we offer many different finishes to find the perfect match.
Canvas Stretching
Not all canvases come stretched and for this reason The Cornish Framing Company offers a stretching service with 3 different depths to match the original stretcher marks. Other materials and fabrics other than canvases may need to be stretched as well.
Canvas Framing
After being stretched canvases do not need to be protected by glass, this means that there are other ways to frame a canvas. Tray frames being the most popular are a brilliant way to compliment your acrylic art, however you could also have a regular frame as well (either with or without glass). Tray frames are also a brilliant way of displaying acrylics on boards, aluminium and polished mirrors.
Frame Anything
Do you have something obscure that you would like to display? Here at The Cornish Framing Company we can frame almost anything! From signed football shirts to crab shells, wine bottles to cricket bats, fabrics and scarfs!
Perspex Box
Perspex are becoming more and more popular, and why wouldn’t they be? If done right they are an excellent alternative to regular framing and a great method showcasing your prized things.
Drymounting
If your Artwork is creased or has been rolled up for a long time, there are processes such as dry-mounting which can flatten it. The dry-mounting process seales the artwork to foamboard or other flat surfaces (di-bond, aluminium, and stiff card) by using an even coat of a special adhesive in between and then applying firm pressure. Depending on the type of paper and the variants of gloss will determine what is the best material for the artwork to be attached to, generally high gloss photos will need to go onto di-bond or aluminium.
